2009 has been a crazy year. I found a new passion. I quit a day job. I found my calling (or at least that is what people are telling me). I shot a couple celebrity weddings. It has been kind of a whirlwind... I mean one day I am hocking computer chips and all of a sudden the next... I am a full time wedding photographer. Okay, so maybe that is a bit of a over exaggeration. It definitely took some work, and there were plenty of bumps in road to get where I am now. I made some mistakes and I learned a ton. I met some other amazing photographers and have been inspired by all of them. I guess you would say I am a pretty lucky guy... I hope I never take all of this for granted.
Its funny how the journey makes the man... I look at my work from twelve months ago and marvel at what it is now. None of it is better or worse than the other... it is just interesting to see how my perspective has changed. It is almost like I am in constant pursuit of finding "my own perspective". The way I really look at the world. Everyone has one, it is simply what you see through your eyes. The challenge is using a medium to effectively capture it and communicate it. It is pretty amazing how taking pictures of everything around you can make you look more at yourself.
So it has finally come time for me to change things up a bit more. I wasn't happy with my old logo and branding or what I thought it was try to say about me, or my work. With the help of my buddy Kevin over at Viceroy Designs I think I have found the right logo for me...
Meet Photog.
If he looks familiar, he should. It's me, Paul, with a camera. That is how this all started. Just me and my camera.
I think Photog is going to enjoy hopping on this photographic journey with me. It is sure to be an exciting one, no matter what perspective you look at it from.
Here's to an awesome 2010.
